Road sign test
Fifteen picture questions on Indian road signs and road markings. See a sign, choose what it means or what you must do, and find out at the end which ones you need to learn again.
How the test works
- 15 picture questions, drawn at random from 43 signs and markings.
- 10 minutes. The test is marked when time runs out.
- Pass mark: 9 of 15, the same as the official learner's licence test.
- Mandatory, cautionary and informatory signs, plus lane lines, zebra crossings and yellow boxes.

Frequently asked questions
How many road sign questions are in the learner's licence test?
There is no fixed number, but road signs and markings usually make up a large part of the 15 questions. Knowing the signs well is the quickest way to pass.
What are the three types of road signs in India?
Mandatory (regulatory) signs give orders and are mostly circular; cautionary (warning) signs are triangular; informatory signs are rectangular. STOP is eight-sided and Give Way is an upside-down triangle.
Are the signs in this test the same as the real ones?
Our drawings follow the Indian Roads Congress code for road signs (IRC:67) and road markings (IRC:35). Real signs can differ slightly in size or detail, but the shapes, colours and symbols are the same.
