Driving knowledge test

Thirty questions on Indian road law and safe driving, drawn at random from every part of the guide. Built to the standard of the UK and New Zealand theory tests, not the minimum.

How the test works

  • 30 questions, multiple choice, chosen at random with questions from every section.
  • 30 minutes. The test is marked automatically when time runs out.
  • Pass mark: 26 of 30 (about 87%).
  • 5 safety-critical questions, on things like red lights, drink-driving, helmets, seat belts and ambulances. Get any of these wrong and you do not pass, whatever your score.
  • At the end you see every answer, with an explanation and a link to the rule.

Free, no sign-up. Your result gets its own private link you can save or share.

This is a practice test
It is not the official RTO learner's licence test and does not give you a licence. It checks whether you know the rules well enough to drive safely.
